Not at all! The MegaZip is built for first-timers and thrill-seekers alike. We start you off with a quick demo zip so you can get comfortable with the gear and the feeling of flying. Our guides walk you through everything step-by-step, and the self-braking system means you’re always in control. Whether it’s your very first ride or your hundredth, you’ll be soaring like a pro by the time you hit the big line.
We’ve got you fully covered. Every rider is outfitted with a top-of-the-line harness, helmet, and trolley. All of our gear not only meets but exceeds industry safety standards and is inspected regularly, so you can focus on the thrill instead of the tech. No need to bring your own equipment—just show up ready to ride.

Safety is our top priority, and part of that is ensuring all participants understand the risks and responsibilities. Before taking flight, you’ll need to sign a waiver. To speed up the process, we recommend completing this online prior to your arrival.

Punctuality is key to keeping the adrenaline flowing smoothly. Please arrive at least 30 minutes before your scheduled flight time. This gives you ample time to check in, gear up, and receive a safety briefing from our expert guides. To save time when you check-in, please fill out a waiver here. This waiver covers all of your WildSide experiences so only fill it out once no matter which experiences you choose.

  • Footwear: Closed-toe shoes are a must. Leave those flip-flops at home!
  • Clothing: Wear comfortable, weather-appropriate attire. Remember, you’ll be zipping through the Smokies, so dress in layers if needed.
  • Lockers are available at WildSide to keep all your personal belongings safe and secure during your flight.

Yes, lockers are available at Basecamp.

The MegaZip experience is designed to be both thrilling and efficient. From check-in to touchdown, plan for approximately 1.5 to 2 hours. This includes safety orientation, gearing up, practice zip, the zipline adventure itself, and time to revel in your post-flight exhilaration.

Mother Nature has her moods, and we respect them. MegaZip operates rain or shine, but in cases of severe weather, like thunderstorms or high winds, we may need to pause or reschedule flights for everyone’s safety. Always check the forecast and dress accordingly.

Absolutely! The MegaZip has four side-by-side lines, so you and your crew can launch together and race all the way down. You won’t share the exact same cable (everyone gets their own line for safety), but you’ll be flying shoulder-to-shoulder the whole ride. Perfect for a little friendly competition—or just taking in the views together.
You bet. Add the MegaZip Ride Video at checkout and capture your entire flight from a helmet-mounted camera—launch to landing—for just $14.99. Delivered as a digital download, it’s the perfect way to relive (and share) your wild ride.
